Synopsis

Twenty five years ago in a rural Virginia town, Sheriff Thomas Capshaw left the scene of a routine local dispute in the middle of the night, went home and collected his wife and young son from their beds, and loaded them in his pickup truck. Then he drove them all off a bridge.

After decades without an explanation, a hot shot reporter from Chicago decides to leave his pregnant wife and the fresh graves of his parents to come to Virginia and upset some long kept secrets. Cocky and hungry for more answers than just those that could solve this case, Logan Anders encounters some dangerous locals, including an overzealous sheriff and an off-kilter innkeeper, who all make things difficult at every corner. Strange and unexplainable things start trailing him despite his best efforts at maintaining his sanity, and threaten to send him back to the Windy City empty handed to face his boss. Without knowing he is getting closer to answers, Logan finds himself in a tailspin of bad luck and blackmail with no chance of escape. The stakes increase as he comes dangerously close to losing his job, his wife, and his mind.

Best book I have read in a long time! Definitely one of my favorites!! Breath taking and the suspense killed me!!

★★★★★

I opened the book and ended up reading for a couple of hours. This story engages you from the start and keeps you pulled in. It is easy to identify and relate to the characters lives and their problems. However, mostly, I wanted to solve this mystery!

Just when you think you have it figured out, there are more twists to come. A suspenseful story that leads the reader into the unexpected and gains rapid pace towards the conclusion.
