I Wanted To Draw A Cat For You

by | Jan 13, 2016 | Just Because | 0 comments

Remember this guy? You know, the one who went on the tv show Shark Tank that had a novelty online business drawing cats for people? Whatever happened to that guy? I have no idea why I started thinking about him or his wonderfully awful dance moves, but he’s been on my mind something fierce lately. I’m talking… beyond fierce… more like a puma on steroids chasing me through a narrow canyon. I might as well just give up now… because I just can’t shake him. I’ve got my mind on Steve Gadlin and Steve Gadlin on my mind. In case you have never heard of him, I have posted his company’s commercial below. You should definitely check it out before continuing to read:
Awesome, right! While you were watching the video, I did a little more research on my buddy Steve. First, I went to his LinkedIn page. The first thing that jumped out at me was that he went to Miami University. I’ve been to Miami before, so that’s pretty neat. Then I noticed, that he’s from the Greater Chicago Area. I’ve been there too. In fact, my wife grew up there. We had our second wedding reception there. One year, while visiting my in-laws in the Windy City, I watched three entire seasons of Alias back to back without even blinking. I wonder if Steve was living there when I was visiting? Next, I noticed that he  currently works at a company called Blewt! It’s not clear whether, Steve owns this entertainment company or if he just works there. The slogan or missions statement on Blewt!’s website says, Blewt! creates comedy to delight and confuse. The wide selection of cartoon logos at the bottom of the page is so simple that it is quite confusing. Do you click the logos, do you just admire them, what do you want me to do, Steve or Blewt!? Whatever your name is? If Blewt! is really serious about fulfilling their mission statement, we all might be so delighted and confused that  we’d gladly pay ten bucks for a lousy cat drawing that my seven year old could create with one eye closed and a puma tied behind his back. I don’t know Steve Gadlin any more than I know any guys named Pete. Is he brilliant? Maybe. Is he a distant warlock relative of Harry Potter? Probably not… since Harry Potter is fictional, but like I said at the beginning of this post, he seems to have some strange power over me lately.
As an entrepreneur myself, I think I am probably just jealous of his success. I’ve always wanted to be able to make a powerful impact on the world. And to be able to do it with little to no effort… man, that would be awesome! All kidding aside, I think the video below paints a clearer picture of who Steve Gadlin is and how he has been able to grow from a simple idea into a successful business. If you have even the simplest idea and are willing to ask for what you want, that dream can come true. Watch the video below, and please let me know if you find it useful. Have a great day!

Tell Me Why I Am Mowing The Grass In The Winter

Could someone please tell me why I am mowing the grass in the winter?! I had to mow the grass on the same day that we dragged our Christmas tree out to the curb for trash pickup. What in the world?

Florida is the most Wonderfully Weird

So you are from Florida. I get it. We all have blind spots when it comes to our own disfunction. But just because you are used to certain situations doesn’t make them normal.

Speaking of Weird … Dune Movie Review

Our local theatre has an amazing new movie going experience called GPX. Wall to wall screen, glorious 4K projection, Dolby Atmos surround sound, plush leather chairs - Amazing! A couple weeks ago I went to watch the new Bond 007 - No Time To Die in GPX and was blown...
